Nagashima Spa Land (Nagashima Spaland)
Nagashima Spa Land has some exciting roller coasters and rides. These include the huge and super fast Steel Dragon 2000 that covers virtually the entire length of the park. The Steel Dragon 2000 ride is 2,479 meter long, 97 meters tall at its highest point with a drop of 93.5 meters. The roller coaster reaches speeds in excess of 150 kph.
In addition, there is a giant Ferris Wheel, a white water slide and a wooden-framed roller coaster, the White Cyclone. The 43 meter tall Giant Frisbee ride swings its riders in a giant arc. There are also more sedate rides for younger children such as a Merry-Go-Round and Bouncy Dome.
Anpanman Children’s Museum and Park
Next door is the Anpanman Children’s Museum and Park which, of course, appeals to very young children.
The Nabana-no-Sato flower park is arranged around a large lake. It has a wedding chapel and boats Japan’s largest flower festival from early March to early May. According to the season, visitors can see plum, cherry, daisies and tulips (in spring), iris and hydrangea in summer and dahlia and cosmos in the fall. There is also a rose garden, begonia garden, an outdoor onsen surrounded by flowers (Sato no yu) and a restaurant at the site. There are illuminations from mid-November until early March. Visitors can view the gardens from above on the Island Fuji – a moving observation deck.
Mitsui Outlet Mall
Mitsui Outlet Mall is a New Orleans-themed mall with over 200 brand stores offering large reductions.
Joyful Waterpark is one of Japan’s largest water parks. It is obviously pretty busy during Japan’s steamy summers when it opens completely. Altogether there are 10 pools including a seawater pool and 10 water slides. There is also an indoor heated children’s pool.
Nagashima Spa (Nagashima Onsen)
Altogether there are six types of jacuzzis, 15 indoor men’s and women’s baths, a huge outdoor bath plus massage, beauty treatments and a variety of restaurants.
